Rumson Country Club is searching for a hands-on leader who is passionate about the culinary arts and developing an exceptional team. This is an exciting opportunity to serve in a year-round, executive chef role at an exclusive, family-centric, multi-generational and seasonal private club in a charming Jersey Shore Community.
Rumson Country Club is a club of tradition, founded in 1908, with a long and distinguished history. It is a member-owned, exclusive, family oriented club, on the New Jersey Shore, with 460 member families. The average member age is 62. The approximate gross dollar operating volume is $10 million including the annual dues volume at $4.4 million, restaurant revenues of $2.7 million, $1 million in sport activity & miscellaneous revenues, and 1.9M in Capital Incomes. The Club employs a staff of 60 year-round teammates which increases to 200 teammates during the busy summer season.
The Main Clubhouse facility is a charming, 27,000 square foot, circa 1800’s, estate home, which houses administrative offices and serves as the venue for winter season food service. Adjacent to the Main Clubhouse, a Golf Shop building containing a Pro Shop, Bag Storage and a Halfway House which provides walk up food service to golfers on the turn and other members, seating 24.
A second seasonal 14,800 square foot clubhouse known as the Riverhouse, located on the Shrewsbury River was built in 2014 after the previous Poolhouse structure was demolished by Superstorm Sandy. A children’s playground and ample play yard space provide an excellent venue for Junior Activities and Summer Camps for member children.
Athletic facilities include; an 18-hole golf course, driving range, two practice putting greens and short game practice areas; four platform paddle tennis courts with a warming hut; two skeet and trap shooting ranges with a shooting lodge; a regulation tournament croquet lawn and a swimming pool. There are three hard surface tennis courts with a tennis pro shop. The Club maintains an active sailing program from its yacht club facilities which include; a spar shed, 40 wet slip marina, marina lockers, boat ramp and sailboat, kayak, canoe & amp; rowboat storage racks. The Golf Course Maintenance Complex includes Offices, Mechanic’s Shop, Chemical Storage, two multi-bay equipment storage garages and a Large Equipment storage pole barn structure. Additional buildings include three cart barns, a pump house, a comfort station on the golf course and a Dormitory Ranch House that serve as intern housing.
Rumson Country Club operated under the General Manager organizational structure. The executive chef reports directly to the General Manager and interfaces with the House Committee and other Committee’s as necessary.

The Poolside Snack Bar does approximately $21K in F&B from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

From November to April, Lunch and Dinner are served at the Main Clubhouse, in a 80 seat main dining room, a 40 seat casual mixed grill room which includes a bar, a 24 seat tavern, a 30 seat Men’s Grill in the Men’s Locker Room, and a 70 seat patio / terrace area. Other private dining rooms include a 12 seat Library and the 18 seat McCarter Room. A ladies locker room features a small card play area. The Riverhouse provides casual waterfront dining for lunch and dinner to the membership in the summer from May to October and is the location for numerous social events.
